Nina was not a high school graduate and did not work outside of the home until she was nearly 40 years old, beginning as a part-time library assistant at Robbins Library. She has progressed in recent years to full-time roles of increasing responsibilities in the Somerville, Waltham, and Framingham public libraries. Due to the long commuting times via public transportation (typically two or more hours each way), Nina rents a room in Framingham. Nina spends most of her free time with friends she met in 1923 in Waltham: Hilda Olsen, Martha “Dickie” Drake, and Marjorie Warren.
